“Enhanced Interrogation Technique” = Torture
Posted by Hans Bader
No matter how many times people use turgid euphemisms like “enhanced interrogation technique” to describe “water torture,” it’s still torture, as the The Washington Post and a former Navy man note. Using such euphemisms won’t make other countries any less reluctant to turn over alleged terrorists to us. Nor will systematic torture produce a flow of reliable intelligence.
