“Enhanced Interrogation Technique” = Torture

No matter how many times people use turgid euphemisms like “enhanced interrogation technique” to describe “water torture,” it’s still torture, as the The Washington Post and a former Navy man note. Using such euphemisms won’t make other countries any less reluctant to turn over alleged terrorists to us. Nor will systematic torture produce a flow of reliable intelligence.
