A group of locals, imbued with civil pride, have agreed to take over Philadelphia’s failing municipal wireless internet access. Earthlink was initially going to supply the WiFi service but, realizing what a bad deal they had gotten themselves into, pulled the plug. Why this group of locals thinks they can succeed where Earthlink failed is unclear. Yet another example of municipal wireless refusing to die, in spite of its many problems.
