Bill to Ban Wireless Tax Hikes

Senators Ron Wyden and Olympia Snowe are proposing a bill that would ban state and local governments from raising taxes on cell phones any higher than they already are for five years. Cell phone taxes are enormous, averaging 15.9% across the country. Let’s hope that they get their way and that cell phones become more accessible to the poor.
