It’s not just their looser drug and prostitution laws. The Dutch are also ahead of the US in some free speech areas. Last month, I reported that a Dutch court ruled that a group of hackers could publish details about how they hacked into an RFID smartcard system. But today, a US district judge slapped a restraining order on a group of MIT researchers that intended to present how they cracked the MBTA’s CharlieCard system.
