Election Season Gives Me Imaginary Relatives

Posted by Hans Bader

The upcoming election has given me new relatives, all of them imaginary.  The Obama campaign’s get-out-the-vote operation calls my house on an almost daily basis, trying to reach people who don’t live there, like Cyrus and Hassan Bader.  But I’ve never heard of either of them, even though I share their last name.  The Obama people have also tried repeatedly to reach my 18-month old daughter Sarah.

I live in a liberal bastion, Arlington, Virginia, where high voter turnout favors the Democratic Party.  The Party hopes to achieve its “80-80 strategy” – getting Arlington voter turnout up to a record 80 percent, and getting 80 percent of those voters to vote Democratic.  Cyrus and Hassan may be imaginary, but votes cast in their name may enable the Party to reach its goal.  Imaginary voters have sometimes ended up on voting rolls as part of voter registration drives by the left-wing activist group ACORN, which has a long history of voter fraud.  (ACORN also hires felonsregisters voters using the names of minors, and registers the same voters under many different names).

Protections against voter fraud have been weakened in Virginia as officials appointed by the state’s liberal governor, Tim Kaine, have ordered local elections boards not to check voter qualifications, such as proof of domicile, drawing protests even from liberal election officials.  People have boasted of voting in Virginia elections despite living out-of-state and being registered in other states.

Hmm….how much can a person sell his vote for these days? Back in the old days, they used to just give them a bottle of whiskey for their vote…..LMAO!

  2. sara Says:

Not only is this fact, but voter registration drives for Obama walk downtown areas targeting only minorities. When a white woman asked for a form, the “community organizer” turned away.

We just need to keep in mind that Barack is a Uniter. That means, once the election is over, all of the conservatives will be united in jail.

[...] Let’s have some straight-talk here!  Barack Obama won his first election by having his lawyers knock all his opponents off the ballot on technicalities.  He WILL do this again with his all-too known GET OUT THE VOTE campaign where the Obama camp. signs-up, registers, and gets vote concurrently.  [...]

  4. tom7 Says:

Gee, if they keep at it they'll succeed Philadelphia in having imagionary voters!
    Nah…they'll never catch up.

  5. JB from LV Says:

    Almost as scary as Ohio.

The fact that Ohio is allowing people to register and vote ON THE SAME DAY (in violation of the state constitution) is almost as disturbing as the fact that those people don't even have to provide proof of identity or residency!

I think Lou Dobbs is the only one I've seen trying to raise real awareness of this. Unbelievable.

  6. Sable Says:

Ah, yes - the peoples republik of northern virginia, from which I can only hope to be able to escape some day.

Just maybe, when the PRNV falls into the state of lawlessness and disfunction that has happened in other countries like France, England, Denmark, Holland Californina, Los Angeles and so on, the rest of the state may rise up and demand cleaning up the mess that the liberls in the northern few counties have created for the everyone else

Reigning in the mess would start with clean and honest voting - not motor voter fraud like obermeister Kaine has approved.

  7. Jeff Schrembs Says:

The Democrats, and Tim Kaine, just feel free to CHANGE THE RULES/LAW when it will “benefit” them. Issuing an order PROHIBITING the local election boards NOT to check voter qualitifications…is APPALLING and it is ILLEGAL!

Anyone who would claim a “victory”, by allowing anyone to vote including those who are NOT LEGALLY ELIGIBLE, is NOT an American nor do they believe in American values/laws.

I hope, and pray, that the Local Election Boards will take their CONSTITUTIONAL DUTIES to heart and do their job. Otherwise the Democrats, who want Illegal's ON DEMAND by the Millions every year taking our jobs/credit/ss/benefits/etc, will “win” because anyone who “questions” whether they are LEGALLY ENTITLED to vote will be deemed “racists”.

This Country is going to “H” in a handbasket and it is time AMERICANS woke up.

If the Republicians tried these “games”, like the Democrats are doing, it would be front page news running 24/7 and Congressional Hearings 24/7. The Republicans need to fight this CANCER now. Nuff said. Nostradamuslives!

The campaign called me too and when I told them I wouldn't vote for Obama over his BAIPA votes and Socialist ideology…they sent the Secret Service to my house with a death threat claim. Read my story if you are interested: ywc.blogtownhall.com

If Obama is such a wonderful 'transcending' candidate…Why are these low level tactics necessary? He doesn't want to win the election, he wants to Take it.

doesn't surprise me, I live in VA., and the GOP opposition to Kaine is terribly lame - the guy is also a lying sack, began breaking his “promises”his first day in office -which is standard fare for the party of deception

  14. Democracy Boy Says:

There's no question that we need a better, cleaner, 21st century system for registering voters. But let's not confuse registration problems with “voter impersonation” on election day, which simply doesn't exist. Voter registration problems are not “voter fraud.” If someone submits a voter-registration form for Hans' 18-month old, it's a crime. But it won't result in any votes being cast on election day by a cute little toddler.

As for the brief window of same-day voting in Ohio, recall that eight states currently have election-day registration, with no problems on election day with long lines or “voter impersonation.” Voter participation in 2004 was 12% higher in EDR states than non-EDR states.Broad and robust participation, in fair and transparent and well-administered elections, is a necessity for responsive, accountable government at all levels. That it seems to routinely become an election-season partisan issue doesn't serve anyone's interests.

Finally, regarding Hans' repeated cite of an anonymous August comment on the VA Pilot site from a “student” who alleges all sorts of things, surely we need better evidence of alleged fraud than that. Time and time again, investigations into actual voter “fraud” on election day show that charges are nearly always bogus.

(By the way, that Pilot commenter posted no comments before or since — though he re-posted the same comment in three voting-related places. Not legitimate evidence, folks.)

We need to do better than this, folks. It's too important.

    Virtual Voters not imaginary. voters
When a third party puts in efffort to create the appearance of a voter existing then that is virtual. It is like the cardboard tanks on the battle field to draw the eye away from the real tanks.
Obama could also be said to have virtual qualifications for President. His real qualfiicactions we would want nothing to do with.

  19. Avitar Says:

Barack Obama is from Chicago! Obama's father-in-law was a ward boss for the old Mayor Daley. His ideal voting is one man one vote once.

Philadelphia will have to set new standards of virtual voting just to remain repectable in the Democratic meetings.

In most areas, voter rosters are public record. Why not see if your mythical relatives are registered?

  23. Larry Says:

You're right, what's to say these illegally registered people in one state are registering in multiple states and will travel across state lines to vote multiple times , enmasse thru ACORN ? I wouldn't put this pass them. How would each state check ????

  24. HansBader Says:

To find out whether someone is registered in Arlington, online, you have to have their social security number and address.

I don't have that for anyone except my daughter Sarah. She does not appear to be registered to vote from my address.

I don't know whether other people contacted at my address, like Hassan Bader, are registered there, since they don't live there (and may not even exist), and I don't have their social security number.

But I guess I will call up Arlington County government and see if I can find out whether they are.

  25. Mal Says:

If its that simple, they wouldn't need ACORN to do it. What prevents any american from registering in more than 1 state to vote? I'd like to think that if it were that easy, someone would have exposed it a long time ago.

  26. Dale E. Linn Says:

I am ashamed of the state of our government. How do we fix it??? Everyone Knew that selecting John McCain as the Republican Candidate was a Major Mistake (I mean, even if he wins, WE, The People, still lose). I feel that the Liberals have shifted completely to the far left, while the Republican Party has lost its resolve and its Conservative Credentials.

  27. Payday Loan Advocate Says:

This election day, consumers who benefit and depend upon the privilege and the availability of payday loans for unexpected emergency expenses must speak up. You have a chance to say your piece and voice your demand for financial freedom. Ohio’s HB 545 is not a Robin Hood that will “steal from the rich and give to the poor.” Instead, this is more like the Sheriff of Nottingham appointing more vassals, and this is what banks and credit unions are supporting. They’re aware that this proposal will leave many financial operations, such as payday loans and other lenders, vulnerable or out of business. This will allow banks and credit unions the opportunity to snatch up any business that’s left behind, and subject consumers to a product that will be even more profitable to banks: overdraft protection. A 391percent on faxless payday loans is nothing compared to an overdraft protection which typically costs in excess of 1,000 percent APR. So, which one’s the moneymaker? Keep in mind that payday loans are typically only two-week loans to begin with, so it’s an apple and orange argument. In addition, voting NO on HB 545 will save about 6,000 jobs in Ohio. Undoubtedly, many who might lose their jobs because of government overregulation will be forced to work and/ or live outside of Ohio. This means it will create a tax and spending power deficit for a state that is already suffering severe budget problems. Join in on the discussion and heed what people’s perspectives are on HB 545 on the blog at http://ideatreks.wordpress.com/2008/05/01/ohio-.... If you value the importance of financial freedom and you want to prevent further economic disaster, vote NO on HB 545.
