Obama has appointed as his chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, a former director of the failed government-backed mortgage giant Freddie Mac, which had to be bailed out by taxpayers. It’s perhaps not surprising, given that Obama was the second-largest recipient of campaign contributions from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the government-sponsored mortgage giants that helped spawn the mortgage meltdown and financial crisis. Emanuel was the money man for the Chicago Democratic machine under Mayor Richard Daley, and is famous for his partisanship and “foul mouthed tirades,” according to the Washington Post. During the time that Emanuel was a Freddie Mac director, it “misreported profits by billions of dollars in order to deceive investors between the years 2000 and 2002,” according to the federal Securities and Exchange Commission.
In addition to engaging in pervasive accounting fraud, the mortgage giants have used bullying, lies, and intimidation to get their way on Capitol Hill. Emanuel is described as using pressure verging on extortion to raise money for Bill Clinton’s reelection bid.
While the Bush Administration repeatedly warned Congress about the need to rein in the mortgage giants, Obama and Emanuel have close links to the failed mortgage giants (former Fannie Mae CEO and fraudster Franklin Raines was an Obama advisor, and former Fannie CEO Jim Johnson originally chaired Obama’s vice-presidential search committee). Finally, after all the unbelievable campaign promises, we are witnessing a “change we can” actually “believe in.”

Looks like you might need to keep close eyes on them and stand up and raise 'CAIN' if they do anything illegal or Un-American. Can't rest on ur laurels. Repubs should have learned at least THAT by now.
Like attracts like.
“Birds of a feather flock together.” A leader devoid/of questionable character is going to have followers who are devoid/of questionable character. If people thought partisan rancor was bitter under Bush, we haven't seen anything yet!
If you people believe that there is a sickening liberal bias in mainstream media, then you must believe there is a sickening conservative bias in media that stands opposed to the mainstream. This article is fraught with it, completely inaccurate, taking quotes and using them out of context, and just another sore-loser bash at Obama. Vague comments like “Obama and Manuel have close links to the failed mortgage giants….” are ridiculous. What does “close link” mean? It makes it sound like Obama was in the company and him and Emanual, single-handedly fleeced millions of investors. Get a grip! If you actually believe that Obama is this bad of a person, with no scruples, then you would be out in the streets, not on a bullshit-shilling website like this, trying to make yourself feel better about losing.
Repubs lost completely on their own, and now that “their guy” isn't going to be in the White House, they are doing the same thing mainstream media has been doing to Bush for years. For shame, and good job just fanning those flames and trying to widen that chasm. Grow up…both sides. It's the “true believers” on either side of the spectrum that are ruining this country, because they stopped using their brains. We need a return of moderate, intelligent, thoughtful, and honest statesmen in this country. And neither side is giving us that.
I noticed they changed the inflamatory title of this (and some other) posts. It was titled “Obama Appoints Foul-Mouthed Freddie Mac Crony Chief of Staff” I guess that's their attempt to move more towards the center!
Foul-Mouthed is back! So much for the move towards the center!
