Votes Magically Appear for Liberal Ex-Comedian

In Minnesota, votes are appearing, seemingly out of thin air, for the liberal Senate candidate (and onetime comedian) Al Franken. Attorney Scott Johnson says that “the election appears to be in the process of being stolen.”

Incumbent Senator Norm Coleman led in election-day results, but his lead keeps shrinking and shrinking, and is now down to an infinitesmal 200 votes out of more than 2 million votes cast.

For example, a bunch of new votes suddenly appeared in Minnesota’s Mountain Iron precinct. But as Attorney John Hinderaker notes, “Mountain Iron uses optical scanning, so the Coleman campaign asked for a copy of the tape documenting the ballots cast on election night. St. Louis County responded by providing a tape that includes the newly-added 100 votes, and is dated November 2–the Sunday before the election. St. Louis County reportedly denies being able to produce the genuine tape from election night, even though Minnesota law, as I understand it, requires that tape to be signed by the election judges and publicly displayed.”

(As John Lott notes, it’s doubtful that the new votes are valid, but previously overlooked, ballots. If they were, one would expect the vote totals for other candidates, not just Franken, to rise as well. But even as new votes for Franken suddenly appear, other vote totals remain almost the same. Franken is getting nearly 3 times as many “newly-discovered” votes as Obama, for example.)

Minnesota’s Secretary of State, who oversees the election process, was backed by the left-wing groups MoveOn.Org and ACORN. (ACORN has a long history of voter fraud and financial fraud).

The Powerline blog features continued coverage of the shenanigans in Minnesota, such as this update).

In Virginia, Tom Perriello unseated Congressman Virgil Goode by a margin of less than 600 votes. Thousands of college students’ votes resulted in the outcome. Many out-of-state college students chose to vote in Virginia rather than their home state this year, despite the fact that some of them were registered to vote elsewhere, and had received absentee ballots from their home state. Thus, vote fraud may have affected the outcome in Virginia’s 5th Congressional District.

I used to handle voting rights cases an attorney.  So this is especially disturbing to me.

How? Another war? Oups! I forgot that you are so pro-life! Now I'm laughing…Bye Delwar.

Denise D. November 8, 2008 at 3:50 pm

Bush was cheating on the war in Iraq with much serious consequences for your country. Anyway, at least there's many good Americans who doesn't let their rage and their bitterness leads their mind and humanity. You should be ashame to think that other people except you are not decent and don't have the right to live a good life. You're probably very religious. Your kindness and charity are visible.

Denise D. November 8, 2008 at 4:47 pm

Mentally ill like Ann Coulter and you should take Prozac. I know, I'm a little frog French Canadian and you don't care about other countries because you're so above all of us. But let me tell you something. Stop seeking for a war with terrorists because you are the next real danger to your country in the next few years. President Obama shouldn't discard the threat you represent for the moderates or the left. You're pretending to love AMERICA but which one? Yours is white, angry and dangerous. Don't pardon me for my English mistakes, you don't deserve it because I'm sure you are androids, not Americans.

Delfar November 8, 2008 at 5:09 pm

You wont be laughing when Canada becomes a state.

Juanita31 November 8, 2008 at 5:12 pm

Denise D., You say,,,, "Your kindness and charity are visible." How about yours?Whose rage and bitterness? You must be mistaking us conservatives for liberals. Did you see us rioting in the streets? No, so stop parroting the American and Canadian news media. By the way, did you also vote for Al Franken, ha, ha.Also, "Bush was cheating on the war in Iraq with much (sic) serious consequences for your country." Well, all of the liberal political leaders in Washington voted for the war in Iraq along with Bush, so they must all have been cheating. Is that what you mean?At least you called the terrorists terrorrists. And, don't worry, we won't pardon your Engllish mistakes.BTW, thanks for speaking for me, Dan H.

Juanita31 November 8, 2008 at 5:14 pm

Good boy!

Juanita31 November 8, 2008 at 5:36 pm

I pray that Al Franken et al will not be able to steal the election from Sen Norm Coleman.

DanH November 8, 2008 at 7:55 pm

Ever wonder why no one attacks Canada? Because you can't rape the willing. You are all parasites on the world stage, stealing our drugs, our jobs, and cheating on every facit of NAFTA. It must be the French blood that makes all the cowards and backstabbers.

Juanita31 November 8, 2008 at 10:17 pm

Good boy, Dan.

Juanita31 November 8, 2008 at 10:28 pm

Yesssss!

Denise D. November 9, 2008 at 1:17 am

Since it is the only language you seem to understand beside insults, I'll pray for you. You really need it. Religeously yours Juanita31.
P.S. I don't want your pardon…I'm very proud to speak more than one language as imperfect as it is. Au revoir Madame…et que Dieu vous protège!

CanadianDude22 November 9, 2008 at 2:32 am

You seem to be misplacing your anger for your failed political party and overall political ideology on us Canadians. Everyone I speak to only has good things to say about Canada (fun fact I sound American but people outside North America are pleased to find out on XBOX LIVE that I'm Canadian, now they only have good things to say) save for lunatics like you that can't handle the world is changing for the better and becoming more progressive each successive day.

Stealing your jobs, your drugs, and cheating on a free-trade agreement? You disgust me. Your venomous words resemble the same racist “conservative” talking points that try to come to a conclusion that all their failures in life are due to “those dirt Jews stealing money and controlling the world” or “those damn Asians come to my country and cheat me out of a job” or “those blacks got that affirmative action thing” or even perhaps “those damn gays in America are causing God to smite us”. You have a psychologically illness, I'll pray for you.

There were so many that were saying, “God will cause the right candidate to win during this election, all the polls are wrong and this country will not go down a road of tyranny and socialism”. You people cannot be reasoned with, I only hope your children will be more open to better change for the world.

It seems McCain got his slogan half right, it's not “Country First”, but “People First” and the people have spoken, in America and abroad. Live with it.

Hans Bader November 9, 2008 at 2:40 am

I am the author of the above blog post, and my wife is French. There's nothing wrong with "French blood," as Dan H. suggests. And NAFTA, on balance, was good for both the U.S. and Canada.

Hans Bader November 9, 2008 at 2:44 am

I am the author of the above blog post. Are you calling me anti-French, Denise? If so, that claim is obviously untrue: indeed, my wife is French, I have friends and former co-workers from Quebec and Canada, and I have never claimed to be "above" other countries. I will be sure to tell my Asian, black, and Hispanic relatives about your claim that "my" America is "white, angry, and dangerous." They will get a good laugh out of that claim.

Alan November 9, 2008 at 2:46 am

How in the world can you "cheat" on FREE trade?

Alan November 9, 2008 at 2:54 am

I'm sorry, but this post is pretty goofy. The idea that an election is being stolen because a few irregularities come to light when the count is "in the noise' is over-the-top, hysterical paranoia.Face it, the Republicans screwed up and are getting beaten fair a square. If the hadn't screwed up, someone like Al wouldn't be a candidate in the first place, let alone manage to get close enough for a recount. You lost on your own.

Javahead November 9, 2008 at 9:24 am

By the way – that Acorn scourge was up here in Canada during our last election. The Conservative Party we elected would have had a majority if not for the dirty rotten cheating and propaganda machine of the *spit* left.

Alan November 9, 2008 at 10:47 am

Canada hasn't had a fair election since 1968? Sure, right. Boy what a poor looser.

Javahead November 9, 2008 at 2:10 pm

Canadians who want free speech rights, individual rights and property rights have been blocked by voter fraud by the socialists who stole power in 1968. Once they gain it they hang on like leeches. Nothing is beneath them in their quest for power and the Canadian media are the propaganda arm.
Our recent election where we reelected a Conservative has prevented us from having a real effective government because they cheated enough to deny him a majority. Now he is hampered and undermined by the lefties declaring that they will vote against everything and anything he wants to change – including jail time for convicted criminals and a cut to govenment financing of pornography.
The lefties are the ones who want that terrorist back in Canada – not the normal people!
I hope America can find some protection from the Marxist Obama by taking control of Congress away from the Leftie Liberals.
Canadians don't want to be Soviet Canukistan but once you “give them a chance” to do their communist thing you have an uphill battle getting rid of the bas***ds.
At least you have a great Constitution, America – use it to the fullest. I don't think America knows what kind of pig (or mutt) in a poke they just bought. One of them wears lipstick.

rlapaugh November 9, 2008 at 4:27 pm

TO: CanadianDude22What has happened to your country since 1945? You used to have balls! Butsince "45", you are as bad as the French! Instead of wasting all those good bombsin Iraq, we should drop thm on YOUR head! Canada has been hiding behind theU.S. since 1945, and letting our brave men do all the fighting and dieing. OneMarine platoon should be enough to take out your pansy assed country, so assoon as one is free – LOOK OUT!!!!

Dona' Adolphi November 9, 2008 at 6:57 pm

Ma'am,Keep it up and actually if you have the zip press on. Thank you once again for being on the Hannity and idiot (Colmes) and speaking out against McCain. You have spoken for many true conservatives when you blasted him on his positions and attitude with working with the emeny just across the aisle. Keep pressing on with the tried and tested conservative viewpoints. From all of my right wing conservatives We Love You….Sincerely,Kramer

Nancyf November 9, 2008 at 8:03 pm

LOL! He must be a democrat. Ya'll brought this whole thing on yourselves. Live in fantasy land and you'll get slapped awake sooner or later.

Nancyf November 9, 2008 at 8:06 pm

LMAO!!! Sour grapes…..ur all repub crooks and ya know it.

psmo November 9, 2008 at 8:30 pm

their is nothing fair about the media being in the tank for a candidate. all you hear is that their CHOICE is the best and they always bash republicans, there was fraud somewhere. lets accept it and not point fingers as to who's to blame for what. communists do suck though.

Ralph A. LaPaugh November 9, 2008 at 9:17 pm

To CanadianDude22:
Instead of wasting all thos good bombs on Iraq, perhaps we should drop them
on your faggot head! Back in WWII you people had balls, now you are no better
than the French. You have hid behind the U.S. since 1945 and let our young, brave
men die for your pansy asses. One platoon of Marines should be enough to take
out your excuse of a country, so as soon as we have one free – LOOK OUT!!!!

Cori November 10, 2008 at 10:44 am

I do not, and I never have in the past, registered Republican. I do not support, nor do I particularly like the GOP. I am equally disappointed with both major political parties.I figured most of us who hang around OpenMarket.org were either libertarians, or leftists coming to make snide remarks. I don't see any evidence to the contrary yet.

LG7 November 10, 2008 at 7:13 pm

He wasn't funny as a comedian and he is just as funny now. Liberals have become intolerant of opinions that differ from the Party line. They can not deal with anyone who will play the race card as they choose it. They are bigots, revisionist as far as history goes. They are narrow minded and shallow. They are hetrophobic zenophiles and neosocialists. They believe in a one party America. They are the new Nazis.

LG7 November 10, 2008 at 7:24 pm

You are a simple little thing, aren't you?

Jason November 11, 2008 at 4:46 am

Because there is no such thing as free trade. In order for free trade to exist you have to have the exact same everything i.e. taxes, currency, etc. Free trade is a myth. If you want to know how to cheat look up Value Added Tax or how China purposefully deflates their currency. Much like communism or the UN things look really on paper, but are horrible in reality.

bigbooga November 11, 2008 at 7:48 am

A lot of self-righteousness coming from someone living in a country that basically exists at the US's whim. Whats the defense force consist of up there again? A couple guys and a dog? And yeah, I can see why you'd have no probs w/ US trade; you're lovin that X-box aren't you? With a Live account connected to the Internet that you use to make sure foreigners know you're not one of those lowlife Americans? Yeah about that Internet – you're welcome. How those Nikes fit, okay? Go good w/ your Levis. Bet all that gaming makes you thirsty for some Mountain Dew.. Oh and +2 for the mocking quotes around "conservative" – see what he did there folks? THAT'S GOLD

bigbooga November 11, 2008 at 8:01 am

I'm not sure what you're trying to say, but thanks for that verbal belly-flop, it was amusing to see you stumble through that awkward attempt at a coherent message. But if I had to guess I'd say the general idea was the typical French-Canadian pavlovian response of DON'T FIGHT!!I especially adore foreigners that haven't a clue what my country (or other large, relevant nations with real problems) may be like, yet offer expert opinion and exhort its inhabitants to "wake up" and "let me tell you something" etc… good stuff

Denise D. November 11, 2008 at 7:27 pm

At least you call yourself bigbooga instead of bigbrain…it's a beginning. By the way, if the US have the right to spread democracy by going to war in countries who didn't ask for it, my little opinion about your country shouldn't be that offensive. It doesn't kill anybody. The freedom of speach still alive and when we are smart and curious, yes we're trying to learn about other countries. Particularly from the US because the decisions of your government could have a lot of impacts in the neighbourhood. A little reminder bigbooga…after the US soldiers, the Canadians soldiers are having the second highest number of casualties in Afghanistan. But of course, we have nothing to say…Sorry for the verbal belly-flop. If you prefer, your next comment could be in French. It will be a pleasure to read you.

Alan November 12, 2008 at 4:02 am

He's a jerk. You've heard of the "ugly American"? He's the "ugly human being". Canada is a great country, and I always enjoy a visit to Toronto. I look forward to us North Americans someday being politically unified. I think we will all be tri-lingual, English/Spanish/French. There is a GREAT future ahead for us all!

Paky November 12, 2008 at 5:49 am

I am from MN and having crude Frankin for 6 years is a horrifying thought. Frankin, Acorn and the Dems are stealing the election from Coleman. What can be done to stop the fraud is the question?

Denise D. November 12, 2008 at 6:34 am

Thanks Alan, I appreciate. My English is not sharp but at least I'm trying. I agree with your vision of the continent but there's a long way to go.The Berlin Wall falled in many years ago but the US are building a new one at the Mexican border. One of these days, it will be our turn in Canada. Fear and ignorance. Very sad.

oh my November 12, 2008 at 9:10 am

What do you mean those abroad have spoken.. who are they to speak ..this was not their election..who cares what they think..

guitman November 12, 2008 at 2:55 pm

Any state that would make Jesse Ventura Govenor deserves Al Franken. If it was'nt for the importanace of checks and balances in the senate,I would say good riddance on Minn. You want him,you got him.

guitman November 12, 2008 at 2:58 pm

White, angry, and dangerous.Did you know we just elected a non-white?Stay home and take english lessons.

Denise D. November 12, 2008 at 3:42 pm

By the way, a majority of white men voted for McCain. Your reply shows your great intelligence and openmindedness. Stay moron and take your 6 pack.

guitman November 13, 2008 at 6:29 am

Don't know what your reply means,cause I'm a moron.Sounds sarcastic,tho'.By the way,I have a masters degree in economics and I don't drink.LOL

Denise D. November 13, 2008 at 7:12 am

Wow! Bravo! What can I say? Having a masters degree in economics proves some knowledge in the field, not intelligence. Last call man, no time to lose.

guitman November 13, 2008 at 12:28 pm

You win,I'm a moron,Happy?LOL

BobC November 13, 2008 at 3:09 pm

I am a Conservative voting Canadian (which in American terms means I vote for a party slightly to the left of Democrats). It is none of my business and probably not my right to say but, watching your election from afar, I was flabbergasted at the vitriol, hatred and intolerance for dissenting opinion that democrat supporters have displayed during and indeed after the election. America has long been a democratic beacon of hope to the world and I fear that the comportment of the left has lowered the bar so much that we may not see a recovery to healthy political discussion and dissent in my lifetime. Off topic but relevant to some of the comments previously posted: Canada has a sizeable contingent of troops on the ground in Afghanistan and is one of the few Nato countries helping to do the heavy lifting in combat-heavy areas. Although I agree that our armed forces are not anywhere near the size of our American friend's our forces are performing bravely and honourably in that theatre and have paid the price in blood.

Alan November 13, 2008 at 3:17 pm

So national control over a nations own currency is "cheating"? Cheating by whose rules? If NAFTA established some rules that the parties agreed to and then broke, I guess that could be called cheating. If so, what were the rules and how were they broken?

Alan November 13, 2008 at 3:21 pm

I guess the first step would be to stop simply asserting that it exists and provide some evidence. You know, "beyond a reasonable doubt."So how about it?PS – Frankin might be horrifying for MN, but he would be a hoot for the rest of the country! I can't wait to see what SNL does with it!

Alan November 13, 2008 at 3:26 pm

Can you give an example of democratic vitrol? I remember getting quite a few hate e-mails from my paleo-conservative republican relatives, but nothing like that from the democrats. I'm sure it existed to some degree, but I don't recall it being in-your-face and upfront like the paleo-conservatives.

Roy November 14, 2008 at 6:14 am

I am personally offended by Mr. Franken being referred to as an Ex-Comedian. In order to be an Ex-comedian he would have to have been intentionally funny. Laughing at a poor mentally unstable individual is offensive, it does not make him a comedian.

Denise D. November 14, 2008 at 10:21 am

Have you ever watch FOX News and listen to Ann Coulter comments?

ddisanass November 14, 2008 at 5:04 pm

DD – Recommended Reading – Liberal Fascism by Jonah Goldberg. Come back when you're eyes are open.

Denise D. November 15, 2008 at 8:18 am

Sure. Fear, fear, fear. Old argument from the right. If reasonable capitalism, compassion, social justice, respect for other countries, tolerance and separation of church & politic are fascism, I take it!
